Grading: Juniors & Seniors 2019

9thKYU (red belt) – 1stKYU (brown belt)

In 2019 we are changing the way gradings are taken. They will no longer take place during the student’s class, as this can be very distracting for those attempting their grade.

Instead, students when ready will be invited along to our set grading days at the Kyudokan headquarters. Grading days will be held monthly, giving the students more opportunities to take their grade.

To be eligible to take your grade:

  • The student will need to be invited to a grading session by their instructor
  • Have regularly attended class
  • Clean gi’s, red for children and white for adults must be worn.
  • All grading fees must be paid prior to the grade
  • All students must have up to date membership including insurance

Once you have  completed your grade, you will be informed if you are successful and in recognition of your achievement we will hold a presentation ceremony which parents, family members and friends are welcome along to celebrate the student’s success. The student will receive their certificate and belt during the presentation.

Successful applicants will then be shared, with your permission, on our Facebook page and Kyudokan website.

Please note: If you are unsuccessful you will not be required to pay again when you retake. Re grading will consist of going over elements of the grade, the student found difficult.

Grading is an extra cost which includes: belt, certificate & examination fee. If unsuccessful the grading can be repeated after a period of time with no extra costs. (maximum 10 per session)
